AMCHAM – U.S. Embassy CSR Photo Exhibition: U.S. Companies Partnering in India’s Inclusive Growth – 2nd April 2018

AMCHAM, in partnership with the U.S. Embassy, launched the second CSR photo exhibition ‘U.S. Companies Partnering in India’s Inclusive Growth’ on 2nd April at the American Center. The exhibition was inaugurated by Ambassador Kenneth Juster and attended by U.S Embassy and USAID officials. Ms. Ranjana Khanna, Director General CEO, AMCHAM, introduced the Ambassador and welcomed guests. Remarks were made by Ms. Kaku Nakhate, National Executive Board Member, AMCHAM and President and Country Head (India), Bank of America and Mr. Harish Krishnan, Chairman – CSR Committee, AMCHAM and Managing Director, Public Affairs & Strategic Engagements, Cisco India & SAARC, Cisco Systems (India). For the exhibition, AMCHAM received 50+ submissions from member companies on their CSR activities in the following areas: computer literacy, environment, health and sanitation, rural education, safety, skill development, water and women’s empowerment.

A panel of judges from the U.S. Embassy voted to select the best 23 photos displayed in the exhibition from the following member companies: Abbott India Limited, Acclaris Willis Towers Watson, AMD R&D Center India Pvt. Ltd., American International Academy India Pvt. Ltd., ChildFund India, Cisco Systems, Citi, EY India, Franklin Templeton International Services (India) Pvt. Ltd., Genpact, Honeywell India, Jacobs Engineering India Pvt. Ltd., Johnson & Johnson Pvt. Ltd., Kewaunee Scientific Corporation India Private Limited, Lockheed Martin India Pvt. Ltd., Lowe’s Services India Pvt. Ltd., Lubrizol Advanced Material India Private Limited, MetLife Global Operations Support Center, Monsanto India, PAR, PwC India Foundation, Qualcomm India Pvt. Ltd. and WABCO India Limited.

The CSR initiatives described in the 23 photos alone have made an incredible impact:

Touched 3,056 villages across India
Involved in more than 158 schools
Trained 184,450 people
Educated and cared for 38,000 students and children
Treated 12,489 patients with some sort of health services
Provided 1,00,000 people access to clean water

This exhibition was a mere glimpse of the reach of AMCHAM’s 450+ members and the impact these American companies have made in India through CSR.
