GCC Committee Meeting

Under the leadership of Ms. Uma Ratnam Krishnan, Chairperson – GCC Committee, AMCHAM and Managing Director, Optum India, the GCC Committee organized a virtual meeting on October 14th. Members discussed probable themes for the annual GCC Summit scheduled for February 2027. Key points included emerging opportunities in India’s GCC ecosystem, with a focus on sector-specific themes, including IT, life sciences, cyber security, resilience, and micro and nano GCCs. Key priorities included engaging with existing and prospective GCCs and sharing best practices, strengthening government–industry–academia collaboration on skills and policy, enhancing community impact, while also addressing workforce readiness, Gen Z expectations, leadership development, and labour code implications. The discussion highlighted the need for reliable data to measure GCCs’ broader economic contributions beyond employment and revenue. Additionally, members explored GCC–start-up collaboration and how geopolitical shifts, global supply chain realignments, and evolving visa policies could create opportunities to attract internationally experienced talent and strengthen India’s position as a global GCC hub.
