Mr. Siddhartha Ghosal, Chairman – Western Region, AMCHAM and CEO & Country President, Dow India and Ms. Rakhi Sikka, Regional Director – Western Region, AMCHAM met Dr. Rajesh Gawande, IFS, Secretary, FDI & Diaspora and Chief of Protocol, Government of Maharashtra on October 6th in Mumbai. They discussed how AMCHAM and the state government can work together to strengthen Maharashtra’s position as a preferred destination for U.S. investment. The discussion also covered the challenges U.S. companies face when investing and expanding in Maharashtra, including companies in the data center and hyperscaler ecosystem. As a next step, AMCHAM plans to organize a focused meeting between Dr. Gawande and AMCHAM members to cover investment opportunities, concerns of U.S. investors, and practical ways to encourage greater FDI into the state.
