Medical Technology Committee Meeting

AMCHAM’s Medical Technology Committee convened a meeting on October 8th 2026 at the office of India Medtronic, bringing together nearly 25 industry leaders and stakeholders, in person and virtually, to discuss key priorities for India’s MedTech sector. The meeting took place under the leadership of Mr. Mandeep Singh Kumar, Vice Chairman, AMCHAM, Chairman – Medical Technology Committee, AMCHAM and Vice President & Managing Director, India Medtronic, and Mr. Atul Grover, Co-Chairman – Medical Technology Committee, AMCHAM, and Managing Director, BD India. The committee reaffirmed its focus on ease of doing business and a level playing field, with discussions covering regulatory predictability, customs and import processes, government procurement, pricing and margins, quality control orders (QCOs), and a policy framework for refurbished medical equipment. The committee also explored initiatives to showcase the contribution of U.S. MedTech companies to India through investments, manufacturing, employment, skilling, healthcare access, and innovation. Proposals included an updated Life Sciences/Healthcare Footprint Study through a capability deck. The meeting was attended by Mr. Ajay Bagga, Managing Director, Zimmer Biomet, and Mr. Ajay Bijlani, Country Head, Baxter, along with senior representatives from 3M, Bausch + Lomb, Becton Dickinson India, Edwards Lifesciences, GE Healthcare, Johnson & Johnson, LifeScan, Lubrizol, QuidelOrtho, Teleflex, and other member companies.
