Members of AMCHAM’s Medical Technology Committee had a constructive and meaningful meeting with the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) and senior officials of CDSCO on September 14^th focused on strengthening the regulatory ecosystem for medical technology and supporting greater ease of doing business in India. Members addressed the regulatory issues related to simplification of license retention requirements, enhanced file upload capacity, inbox feature in MD online portal, recategorization of PACs, MedTech Mitra initiative, and risk classification provision in the medical device portal. The detailed discussions and guidance provided on various regulatory matters were extremely valuable to industry.
