Suggestions on Draft Industrial Relations (Karnataka) Rules, 2026

AMCHAM submitted suggestions to the Department of Labour, Government of Karnataka, on the Draft Industrial Relations (Karnataka) Rules, 2026. The recommendations cover alignment of state timelines with the central framework, recognition of existing internal mechanisms in place of duplicate committees, review of negotiating union recognition thresholds and tenure, refinement of the scope of negotiable matters, calibration of notice and prior permission requirements for retrenchment, lay-off and closure, and a defined framework for exemptions under section 96.
