AMCHAM met with Mr. Sushil Pal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Electronic and Information Technology, Government of India on June 5th at his office. The interaction brought together leaders from leading U.S. electronics manufacturing and ICT companies operating in India for a focused dialogue on key policy and regulatory issues impacting the sector. This meeting was led by Col. Ali Akhtar Jafri (Retd.), Director Government Affairs, Dell Technologies. Members took the opportunity to convey gratitude for supporting industry with timely and much needed interventions during the ongoing geopolitical scenario, and for addressing concerns related to memory pricing volatility. The meeting focused on strengthening the U.S.–India relationship with a focus on clearer regulatory frameworks for the electronics manufacturing ecosystem. Key policy discussions included streamlining of end-user certification and authorization for dual use items.
