On April 14th, AMCHAM’s Defense Committee met with students and faculty of the U.S. National War College during their visit to New Delhi. Mr. Alay Parikh, Chairman – Defense Committee, AMCHAM and Vice President, International Business Development, Boeing India welcomed participants and gave an overview of the defense sector in India. Mr Samit Ray, Co-Chairman – Defense Committee, AMCHAM and Deputy Vice President, Government Affairs, Raytheon Technologies and Mr. Michael Fernandez, Vice Chairman, AMCHAM and Country Head India & GBD South Asia Lockheed Martin India, provided these future leaders with valuable insights into the American defense industry in India. Committee members from BAE Systems India, Boeing India, L3Harris India, Lockheed Martin India, and Raytheon Technologies engaged in a thoughtful session focused on U.S.-India relations in the context of defense partnerships. The students were able to understand more about opportunities for collaboration between the U.S. and India in defense procurement and technology sharing, the evolving strategic landscape in the Indo-Pacific region, and the importance of a strong U.S.-India defense partnership in ensuring regional security.
