AMCHAM’s Eastern Region organized the second session under its AI Horizon 2026 Roundtable Series on March 9th themed ‘Redefining Finance: AI in Risk, Compliance, and Digital FinTech Ecosystems.’ The virtual roundtable brought together industry leaders and policymakers to discuss the growing role of artificial intelligence in finance, taxation, and FinTech ecosystems. Mr. Surajit Banerjee, Senior Managing Director, Fi-Tek, highlighted the foundations required for building an AI-enabled financial ecosystem in India. Mr. Manish Ranjan Das, Financial Controller & Managing Director, Komatsu, shared practical use cases of AI and intelligent automation in manufacturing and mining, particularly in predictive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency.

Mr. Prasenjit Dasgupta, EVP and Chief Financial Officer, Hyland Software Solutions India LLP, spoke on the role of AI in tax strategy, regulatory reporting, and CFO decision intelligence, emphasizing the importance of strong data governance. Providing the regulatory perspective, Mr. Muralidhar Manchala, Deputy General Manager, FinTech Department, Reserve Bank of India, discussed the RBI’s vision for AI in India’s FinTech ecosystem, focusing on balancing innovation with financial stability. The session concluded with an interactive panel discussion and Q&A moderated by Mr. Surajit Banerjee, highlighting AI’s growing impact on risk management, compliance, and financial decision-making. The program was well attended by members.
