AMCHAM’s Pharmaceuticals Committee, under the leadership of Ms. Meenakshi Nivetia, National Executive Board Member and Chairperson – Pharmaceuticals Committee, AMCHAM and Country President and Managing Director, Pfizer India, convened a meeting on November 25th virtually. The meeting brought together CEOs and senior leaders from leading U.S. pharma companies to discuss key policy initiatives and challenges. The Chairperson emphasized the importance of leveraging AMCHAM to drive policy changes, particularly in regulatory, pricing, and innovation in India. Key issues discussed included the impact of ongoing trade negotiations with the U.S., EU, and other countries, the revision of the Drug Price Control Order, stronger regulatory data protection (RDP), the need for better access to medication and the potential of India as an innovation hub. Meetings with U.S. government stakeholders to discuss the current policy developments and seek their support was also discussed.
