AMCHAM’s GCC Committee held a virtual meeting on July 24^th themed ‘Tax & Tariffs in the GCC Ecosystem in India’ featuring expert speakers Mr. Naveen Agarwal, Partner, Direct Tax, EY and Ms. Aisha Hussaini, Partner, Indirect Tax, EY. The discussion focused on India’s rise as a GCC powerhouse, the shift from transactional functions to strategic functions, trends, and developments in GCCs w.r.t interaction with authorities which included secondment of foreign affiliates, permanent establishments, skill transfer, global leadership roles, IP ownership, treatment of third parties, and taxation of employees’ transactions, amongst others.
