Regional CSR Meeting with the Government of Tamil Nadu
AMCHAM’s Tamil Nadu Chapter successfully conducted a regional CSR meeting in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu School Education Department, Government of Tamil Nadu and the Chief Resilience Centre on June 20th at INPG Pinnacle Group, Chennai. The session was attended by CSR heads from several U.S. companies and focused on key discussions and clarifications necessary to advance into the implementation phase of joint CSR initiatives. The core project themes included:
- Preserving Chennai’s Heritage
- Sustainable Chennai – Lake Restoration Projects
- Greener Chennai – City-wide Tree Plantation Drives
- Support for Tamil Nadu Government’s Educational Initiative – Namma School Namma Ooru Palli
The first three projects were thoughtfully presented by Mr. Krishnamohan, Chief Resilience Officer, who emphasized their alignment with the city’s sustainability and climate resilience goals. Mr. Ajit Mathias, State Director of the initiative Namma School Namma Ooru Palli, shared a detailed presentation on how the program aims to transform government schools across Tamil Nadu to prepare students as confident, well-rounded, and globally competitive individuals. With corporate support, the initiative seeks investment in quality education rooted in the pride and richness of Tamil culture and modern infrastructure addressing both holistic learning and nutritional needs. The meeting laid a strong foundation for future collaborations between AMCHAM members and the Government of Tamil Nadu, fostering impactful CSR interventions that support both community development and sustainable urban living.
