Members of AMCHAM’s Agriculture and Food Processing Committee met with Mr. Clay M. Hamilton, Minister Counselor for Agricultural Affairs, U.S. Embassy on September 6th in New Delhi. The objective of the meeting was to sensitize Mr. Hamilton and his team about committee initiatives and to understand their perspective on the same. The group discussed pertinent topics including food security, AgTech, climate change, supply chain, policy stability, and harmonization of taxes, amongst other topics. They discussed framing a roadmap for the U.S.-India agriculture and food processing sector that would cover the next 10-20 years. A masterclass around elevating regulatory capabilities in collaboration with academia was also deliberated upon.
