Ms. Ranjana Khanna, Director General CEO, AMCHAM and Ms. Komple Sharma, Director, AMCHAM called upon Ms. Sumita Dawra, Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India on April 8th at her office. The discussion focused on the proposed labour code, the proposed timeline of its implementation and select challenges around the code. Key points included – the definition of wages, workers vs. employee, inclusion of gig workers, labour being a concurrent subject, etc. AMCHAM also apprised Ms. Dawra about the upcoming conference on Future of Work and invited her to share her vision with members.
