Agriculture & Food Processing Committee Meeting - 19 March 2024

AMCHAM’s Agriculture & Food Processing Committee organized a hybrid meeting on March 19th at Cargill’s office in Gurugram. Mr. Prashant Peres, Chairman – Agriculture & Food Processing Committee, AMCHAM and Managing Director – South Asia, Kellogg’s and Mr. Raju Kapoor, Co-Chairman – Agriculture & Food Processing Committee, AMCHAM and Director – Public & Industry Affairs, FMC India Pvt. Ltd. welcomed members. The theme of the meeting was building sustainable and resilient food chains. Members shared about their initiatives around regenerative agriculture, precision agriculture, water conservation, plastic recycling, nutritional security, empowering women farmers, circular economy and protecting the climate. Mr. Gaurav Sishodia, Vice President, Invest India shared his perspective and assured support for future activities pertaining to the food sector. He also shared the scope for World Food India 2024 and invited AMCHAM to become a partner. Ms. Komple Sharma, Director, AMCHAM tabled the first draft of the report ‘Making India the Global Food Hub’ and shared the progress with members. The committee also brainstormed ideas and suggestions for FY 2024-2025 and for the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision document. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by the chair.
