AMCHAM interacted with Mr. E. Srinivas, Joint Secretary, Logistics, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India on April 4th to discuss U.S.-India partnership opportunities in the logistics sector, challenges and strategies for strengthening economic relations between the two nations in the logistics sector. Ms. Ranjana Khanna, Director general CEO, AMCHAM, complimented the Government of India on various initiatives undertaken to enhance India’s ranking on the global logistics index and highlighted the positive contributions made by U.S. industry towards the Indian economy. Mr. Srinivas assured AMCHAM of the government’s full support in mitigating challenges to streamline policies and procedures, coordination with relevant Ministries and Departments for resolving inter-ministerial issues, involving industry to bring about technological progress and help address inter-state disparities in rules and regulations in the logistics sector. Dr. Jivisha, Deputy Director, Logistics, DPIIT, representatives from Amazon, APCO, Cushman and Wakefield, Smiths Group and UPS and Ms. Geeta Poduval, Director, AMCHAM joined the interaction.
