AMCHAM’s Western Region Executive Committee met on August 7th under the chairmanship of Mr. Chandrakant Nayak, Chairman – Western Region, AMCHAM and CEO and Country President, Dow India. The following people attended the meeting: Mr. Avinash Gupta, National Executive Board Member, AMCHAM and MD & CEO – India, Dun & Bradstreet Information Services India, Mr. Anand Jha, Managing Director Government Relations, Blackstone Advisors India, Mr. Praveen Gosain, Chairman – Supply Chain & Logistics Committee, AMCHAM and Director – Supply Chain, Corning Technologies India, Mr. David Pasquini, Commercial Officer, U.S. Consulate General Mumbai, Ms. Shamli Menon, Senior Commercial Officer, U.S. Consulate General Mumbai, Ms. Ranjana Khanna, Director General CEO, AMCHAM, Wg Cdr Rajiv Anand, Senior Director, AMCHAM and Ms. Rakhi Sikka, Regional Director – Western Region, AMCHAM. Ms. Rakhi Sikka, who assumed charge as Regional Director was introduced to the Western Region Executive Committee and welcomed into team AMCHAM. The Chairman highlighted the need to step up regional interaction as well as sectoral activities in the interest of members. For a wider involvement with U.S. companies in the region, a requirement to move strongly ahead with an outreach to companies in the Pune region was emphasized. The Chairman thanked the U.S. Consulate for being a constant source of assistance as well as encouragement. Mr. Praveen Gosain briefed members on the recent meeting of the Supply Chain & Logistics Committee with Ms. Sumita Dawra, Special Secretary, Logistics, Department for Promotion of Industry and Industrial Trade, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, held on August 2nd. He brought out the government’s emphasis on developing supply chain partnerships as well as the focus on sustainability in supply chains.
