The 1st meeting of AMCHAM’s Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) CXO group was held on Tuesday, March 5th, in Mumbai. The meeting commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Ursula Thakkar, Chairperson – Western Region, AMCHAM and Managing Director, Lubrizol Advanced Materials India Pvt. Ltd., which was followed by a round of introductions. As part of the agenda, members discussed ideas on building and driving the D&I Committee and its 3 working groups – gender diversity, LGBTQ, differently enabled, ideated on forthcoming D&I events and initiatives as well as the frequency of committee meetings. Ms. Kaku Nakhate, Chairperson – D&I Committee, AMCHAM, Vice Chairperson, AMCHAM and President & Country Head (India), Bank of America N.A., while sharing the vision, strategy and action plan of the committee expressed the need to have active participation of CXO’s and D&I leaders from AMCHAM’s pan-India membership enabling a platform of best practice sharing and networking. The meeting was immediately followed by the D&I Committee event ‘Balance For Better – Driving Gender Balance at the Workplace.’
