On March 5th, AMCHAM’s Western Region organized a virtual thought leadership session on ‘The Nuances of the New Labour Code and How Companies Can Prepare Themselves’ with Mr. Sundeep Puri, Advocate, M/s Sundeep Puri Associates and Advocates. The session commenced with opening remarks by Ms. Surabhi Wahal, Regional Director – Western Region, AMCHAM followed by Mr. Sarthak Ranade, Chairman – Western Region, AMCHAM and Managing Director – Janssen India, Johnson & Johnson Pvt. Ltd. who set the stage and introduced the esteemed speaker through his welcome remarks.

Through a detailed presentation and dialogue Mr. Puri shared insightful dimensions of the nuances and implications of the New Labour Code – The Occupational, Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020. He focussed on major monetary changes adversely affecting industry and the cost increase under the following four codes – Wage Code 2020, Social Security Code 2020, Industrial Relations Code 2020 and Occupational Safety Code 2020. An interactive Q&A segment followed. The event concluded with closing remarks and a vote of thanks by Mr. Shailendra Jagtap, Vice Chairman – Western Region, AMCHAM and Managing Director & CEO, John Deere India Pvt. Ltd.
