AMCHAM’s Agriculture & Food Processing Committee organized its second meeting on November 8th at the Grant Thornton office in New Delhi. Mr. Simon George, Chairman – Agriculture & Food Processing Committee, AMCHAM and President, Cargill, welcomed participants. Mr. Chirag Jain, Associate Director, Grant Thornton, gave a synopsis of the report on ‘Enhancing Rural Prosperity in India.’ Members provided their feedback on the report and it was decided to have individual sessions with each of the member company to enable them to give focused insights to the report. The members also discussed to organize an event focusing on agri-technology under the aegis of the Agriculture & Food Processing Committee. It was discussed to prepare a paper on the scope of terminal markets in India and subsequently submit the same to the Ministry of Agriculture. A presentation on the recent FPO developments was given by the Grant Thornton team. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by AMCHAM India.
