AMCHAM supported Executive Workshop: Leadership and Strategic Execution in a Chaotic World – 10th August 2017

AMCHAM supported an executive workshop on ‘Leadership and Strategic Execution in a Chaotic World,’ an initiative of TwentyEight Strategy Execution and Duke Corporation Education on Thursday, 10th August 2017 in Mumbai. The event was a platform for corporate leaders to learn and discuss challenges and strategies to manage today’s VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous) world.

The morning began with a welcome by Mr. Krishnendu Sen, Regional Manager, TwentyEight Strategy Execution. He introduced the speakers for the day – Mr. Tim Wasserman, Chief Learning Officer, TwentyEight Strategy Execution, Mr. Nikhil Raval, Managing Director of India, Duke Corporation Education and Ms. Sandhya Karpe, Managing Director of Singapore, Duke Corporation Education.

With a brief introduction to the unique and powerful partnership between the two organizations, Mr. Raval began with a lively discussion on the new type of leadership capabilities needed to navigate the VUCA world. The conversation focussed on the importance of developing the mindset, skillset and the toolset in organisations. Ms. Sandhya Karpe shared insights into the leadership ecosystem and spoke of the interconnectedness and alignment between the ‘architects’, ‘translators’ and ‘doers’ in every organization across industries. Mr. Wasserman and Mr. Raval then brought to light new research insights into creating adaptive leaders with a focus on practical strategies to developing project based work to thrive and succeed in a complex business environment. Furthermore, to present a practical example of adaptive execution and practical strategies in projects participants at the workshop were split in teams. The high spirited, mind boggling, teamwork involved in the domino game gave the participants an understanding of the challenges and how to strategize as a team in the VUCA world.

A brief Q&A session followed. The event was well attended by prominent organizations in India across sectors from financial services, pharmaceuticals to logistics and manufacturing, including representatives and leaders of AMCHAM member companies.
