The second meeting of AmCham’s Manufacturing Committee for the year 2016-17 under the chairmanship of Mr. Rampraveen Swaminathan, President & Managing Director, International Paper India Pvt. Ltd. and co-chairmanship of Mr. Sanjay Koul, Chairman & Managing Director, Timken India Limited, was held on 3rd October at the Timken office in Bangalore. Dr. Pradip Datta, Chairman – Karnataka Chapter, AmCham and Corporate Vice President & Managing Director, Synopsys (India) Pvt. Ltd. also joined the meeting and stressed the importance of manufacturing in India.

Members went on a tour of Timken’s Technology Center and planted a tree to commemorate the day. The meeting focused on the results of the manufacturing questionnaire, challenges in specific states, the need to have single window approvals and the best way to get inputs across to the GOI. The committee also brainstormed on how to get more companies actively involved and the best way to showcase American companies in a manufacturing event to celebrate AmCham’s silver jubilee year slated to take place in early 2017.
