Supply Chain and Logistics Committee’s Sharing and Learning Concall Session on ‘How Will GST Aid and Help Design the Supply Chain Network?’ – 27th July 2017

To discuss the impact, implications and opportunities in supply chain that GST has created for both organizations and their value chain, AMCHAM’s Supply Chain and Logistics (SCL) Committee, in partnership with Deloitte Touche Tohmatshu India LLP, organized a sharing and learning concall session on ‘How Will GST Aid and Help Design the Supply Chain Network?’ on Thursday, 27th July 2017. The session was well attended, not only by members of AMCHAM’s SCL Committee and their teams, but also by members of AMCHAM’s Manufacturing Committee. The call began with opening remarks by Ms. Surabhi Wahal, Regional Director – Western Region, AMCHAM, followed by welcome remarks by Mr. Srinivasan Sarangapani, Chairman – Supply Chain & Logistics Committee, AMCHAM and Director Operations, Timken Engineering & Research India Pvt. Ltd.

The guest speaker for the session was Mr. Easwaran Subramanian, Consulting Partner, Deloitte Touche Tohmatshu India who leads the supply chain and manufacturing operations practice for the firm in India. Through an insightful presentation which began with a context of the characteristics of supply chains in India, Mr. Subramanian spoke of the significant impact that GST has had on both the core and support functions of companies. He also brought to light the opportunities that organizations are now presented with to enhance supply chain effectiveness. The Q&A session that followed answered several practical queries faced by supply chains across the diverse array of AMCHAM member companies who attended. The sharing and learning concall came to close with a vote of thanks by Mr. Milind Tailor, Co-Chairman – Supply Chain and Logistics Committee, AMCHAM and Head of Indirect Procurement & Electronic Security Asia Pacific, Diebold Nixdorf Private Limited.
