On July 12th, India and the United States have jointly launched the call for collaborative proposals on ‘Critical and Emerging Technology: Quantum Technologies and Artificial Intelligence for Transforming Lives.’ Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, Government of India highlighted that investments in AI and quantum technology have the potential to bring transformative advancements in various aspects of everyday life, including healthcare, agriculture and climate change. The recent approval of the National Quantum Mission (NQM) in India aims to promote scientific and industrial research and development in quantum technology. Ambassador Eric Garcetti, U.S. Embassy, spoke about how the initiative for Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET) between the U.S. and India was a limitless partnership. He reiterated that the vision of Prime Minister Modi and President Biden would benefit and evolve in the fields of semiconductors and artificial intelligence. Joint U.S.-India technology innovation and entrepreneurial proposals that are commercially viable and socially relevant are invited.
