AMCHAM’s Karnataka Chapter Executive Committee interacted with Consul General Judith Ravin, U.S. Consulate General Chennai and key officials from the Consulate: Ms. Kathryn Flachsbart, Chief of the Consular Section, Mr. Dustin Bickel, Economic Officer and Mr. Manoj Desai, Principal Commercial Officer. The session was opened by Ms. Ranjana Khanna, Director General CEO, AMCHAM and Mr. Sanjay Koul, Vice Chairman, AMCHAM, Chairman – Karnataka Chapter, AMCHAM and Managing Director, Timken India, who provided an overview of U.S. industry in India and the activities of the Karnataka Chapter.
Consul General Judith Ravin addressed the gathering and committed her team’s support to provide U.S. companies in Bengaluru briefings, round tables and networking opportunities. She mentioned the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation would have a Mumbai based person posted soon and highlighted how the Consulate has continued to support U.S. citizens, the issuance of student visas and drop box facilities. In the area of healthcare, U.S. Secretary of State Pompeo announced $10 million to boost private sector efforts and bolster ongoing response initiatives. The Executive Committee was introduced to Ms. Kathryn Flachsbart and Mr. Dustin Bickel. Mr. Manoj Desai made comments. Executive Committee introduced themselves and a short Q&A followed. The session was very well received and a possible follow up sessions with the larger member base has been discussed.
