Interactive Session on Proposed U.S. Tax Reforms – 11th August 2017

An interactive session on proposed U.S. tax reforms was jointly organized by AMCHAM India and Deloitte on 11th August 2017 in the office of Deloitte, Gurgaon. Ms. Madhvi Kataria, Deputy Director General, AMCHAM, welcomed members and guests and Ms. Neeru Ahuja, Chairperson – Tax and Tariff Committee, AMCHAM and Partner, Business Tax, Deloitte Haskins & Sells LLP, made opening observations and introduced the speakers.

Deloitte U.S. global leaders, Ms. Terri LaRae, U.S. Tax Reform Leader and International Tax Partner, Ms. Janet Moran, Global TMT Tax Leader and Principal in the New York office of Deloitte Tax LLP, and Ms. Nancy Millett, Global C&IP Tax Leader, shared their insights on the tax proposals, how to be ready for the tax reforms, proposed corporate and individual tax law changes that have been released to date, conditions that could hasten or hinder action on tax reform this year, background on U.S. process on tax legislation, global trends in tax reform and how to be prepared and what the India taxpayer must think about today.

Mr. Rohinton Sidhwa, Partner, Deloitte Haskins and Sells LLP, gave the closing remarks and proposed the vote of thanks.
