On May 13th, 2022, AMCHAM India communicated with Ms. Mamta Banerjee, Chief Minister, Govt. of West Bengal, and Mr. Rajeev Kumar, Secretary, Information Technology and Electronics Department, Govt. of West Bengal, with an industry request for an exemption of daily working hours under the West Bengal Shops and Establishments Act, 1963 (“Act”).

Rajaraman, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) to avoid additional compliance burdens impacting EODB: Electronics Hardware Manufacturing Industry. The submissions were made on March 7th, 2022

Request for consideration : JPC Report on PDP Bill- 2019

On March 1, 2022, AMCHAM India submitted industry requests for consideration on the draft Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) report on the Personal Data Protection Bill-2019 to Mr. Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) and Mr. Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY).

Industry comments on US-India High Technology Cooperation

AMCHAM India shared industry comments on US-India High Technology Cooperation with Mr. Tarun Chhabra, Senior Director, Technology and National Security, U.S. National Security Council on November 30th, 2021. Some of the key points suggested were the US-India High Technology Corridor, building quantum capacity in India, harmonisation of standards, open architecture and many more.
